Mangaluru, Jan 26: St Theresa’s School celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm, discipline, and patriotic fervour on its campus. The programme reflected the ideals enshrined in the Indian Constitution and highlighted the responsibility of young citizens in building a strong, united, and progressive nation.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere filled with pride, respect, and deep national spirit.

A key highlight of the programme was the impressive march past, which showcased discipline, unity, and leadership. The march was led by the NCC cadets, symbolising discipline, unity, and service to the nation. They were followed by the Scouts and Guides, representing duty, preparedness, and social responsibility, and the School Cabinet Members, reflecting student leadership, integrity, and accountability. 

This was followed by the four school houses marching past the dais in the order of blue, green, red, and yellow. The blue house stood for discipline, loyalty, and wisdom; the green house highlighted growth, harmony, and responsibility; the red house displayed courage, strength, and leadership; while the yellow house concluded the march with optimism, enthusiasm, and positivity.

The programme was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Dr R Nagesh, an former Army serviceman and educationist. In his inspiring address, Dr Nagesh emphasised the significance of Republic Day, discipline, and moral values. He encouraged students to uphold the principles of the Constitution in their daily lives and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the nation.

The celebration also included a prayer service, patriotic messages, and cultural performances that beautifully showcased India’s unity in diversity and rich cultural heritage.

The Republic Day programme concluded on a patriotic note, leaving the gathering inspired and reaffirming St Theresa’s School’s commitment to nurturing disciplined, value-based, and socially responsible citizens.
