Brain haemorrhage claims life of Mangaluru traffic head constable

Mangaluru, Feb 4: A 36-year-old police head constable attached to the Kadri traffic police station died due to a brain haemorrhage on Tuesday, February 3.

The deceased has been identified as Maruti Lamani (36), who was serving as the highway patrol vehicle driver at the Kadri traffic police station. A native of Haveri district, Maruti had joined the police department in 2016.

According to sources, after completing his night duty on Sunday, February 1, Maruti returned to his residence at Bikarnakatte, where he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately shifted to a hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment. However, he did not respond to treatment and breathed his last on Tuesday.

Maruti Lamani is survived by his wife Jakkavva, who is also serving as a police constable at the Kadri police station, and two daughters.
