St Agnes School CBSE Bendur organises 'BIDS ADIOS' farewell programme for grade X students

Mangaluru, Feb 5: St Agnes School, CBSE, Bendur, Mangaluru, organised a meaningful and memorable farewell programme to bid a fond adieu to the outgoing grade X students. The programme was marked by grace, gratitude, and emotion as the school community came together to celebrate the students’ journey and wish them success in their future endeavors.

The event commenced with a band escort, as the students, dressed in their colorful best attire, were received along with their parents and escorted to the venue. This was followed by a warm flower band welcome gesture extended to the students and their parents. The dignitaries were then ceremoniously escorted, which included the joint secretary of the Institution and chief guest, Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, PTA vice president Pradeep Misquith, vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC.

The programme began with a solemn prayer service, invoking God’s blessings upon the students, followed by a lively and graceful welcome dance. Rushda Moosa delivered the welcome speech, extending a warm greeting to the dignitaries, staff, parents, and students.

A thoughtfully presented skit titled 'Roots to Wings' beautifully highlighted the transformation of students from eager learners to confident individuals ready to spread their wings. This was followed by an energetic entertainment dance, adding vibrancy and cheer to the celebration. A touching video presentation then took the audience down memory lane, capturing precious moments and unforgettable experiences of the grade X journey.

An emotional wishing Song was presented for the outgoing students, expressing love, hope, and good wishes. Aradhana Shetty of grade IX shared her experiences and admiration for her seniors. This was followed by heartfelt reflections from grade X students Aditi P K, Shannan Saldanha, Nidhi Nirvani, and Fathimath Alisha, who expressed their gratitude towards their teachers, parents, and the institution for constant guidance and support.

Parents Jasmine Crasta and Rubina Begum shared their views, appreciating the school for nurturing academic excellence alongside strong moral and spiritual values.

In her address, chief guest Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC. congratulated the students on successfully completing an important milestone in their academic journey. She encouraged them to face future challenges with courage, faith, and confidence, reminding them that the values learnt at St Agnes would always guide their decisions in life.

Emphasising gratitude, discipline, and perseverance, she urged the students to remain humble even as they aim high. She also appreciated the dedicated efforts of Sr Maria Sarika AC the principal, teachers and the unwavering support of parents in shaping the students into responsible and compassionate individuals. Her inspiring words motivated the students to believe in themselves, dream big, and strive for excellence while remaining firmly rooted in strong values.

In her address, the principal, Sr Maria Sarika AC, expressed her deep pride in the outgoing grade X students and congratulated them on reaching this significant milestone. She fondly reflected on their growth, resilience, and achievements over the years, acknowledging the collective efforts of teachers and parents in shaping their journey.

She encouraged the students to remain grounded in the values of faith, discipline, and service that St Agnes School instils, reminding them that success is meaningful only when guided by integrity and compassion. Wishing them courage and confidence as they step into a new phase of life, she assured them that St Agnes would always remain their second home. Alongside the words of appreciation she also put forth necessary instructions pertaining to the CBSE Board examination.

The programme included the lighting of the lamp and oath-taking ceremony, led by teacher Daphne, symbolising commitment, integrity, and responsibility. This was followed by the handing over of mementos to the students as a token of love and appreciation from the institution.

The event was gracefully compered by Nelisha D’Souza and Relisha D’Souza, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Priyanka Correa, acknowledging the contributions of all who made the programme a grand success. On behalf of all the students, a small token of generous contribution was handed over to the principal.

The farewell programme concluded with a photo session, followed by refreshments, leaving behind cherished memories and heartfelt emotions.

A Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was held at the chapel of St Agnes. Fr Vivek, the main celebrant, bestowed special blessings upon the grade X students and encouraged them to remain steadfast in prayer and uphold the essential values of life. The melodious choir created a serene and prayerful atmosphere as students praised and thanked God for the many blessings received during their school life.

The programme ended on a joyful and hopeful note, wishing the grade X students success, happiness, and fulfilment in all their future endeavors.
