Bengaluru: BJP MLC C T Ravi suspended from Karnataka Legislative Council for a day

Bengaluru, Feb 5: BJP MLC C T Ravi was suspended for a day from the Karnataka Legislative Council on the final day of the session over allegations of making 'objectionable remarks' against Congress member Nazeer Ahmad, officials said.

The suspension came after C T Ravi commented on the controversial remarks made by Ahmad against Prime Minister Narendra Modi two days earlier. Congress members in the Council demanded strict action against Ravi, terming his statements as 'unacceptable'.

On Wednesday, just an hour before the session was adjourned indefinitely, Council chairman Basavaraj Horatti announced that C T Ravi would be suspended from the House for the day.
