Jalandhar, Feb 6: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead in broad daylight on Friday after unidentified assailants opened fire at him near a gurdwara in the Model Town area of Punjab’s Jalandhar.

According to preliminary information, the attackers arrived on a two-wheeler and fired multiple rounds at Oberoi while he was seated inside his car parked outside the gurdwara. Several bullets reportedly hit him, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead due to the severity of the injuries sustained in the firing.

Following the incident, panic prevailed in the area. Senior police officials rushed to the spot, and Jalandhar police have launched a detailed investigation to identify the assailants and ascertain the motive behind the attack.
