Dubai: Alliance Cricketers to Host Tournament of Top 6 UAE Teams

Dubai, Feb 28: Alliance Friends Cricketers of UAE will organize a special and distinct tournament in Hamriya cultural and sports club premises in Hamriya town on March 2.

Only 6 veteran teams are invited to participate namely - Nafis Group, Devine Friends, Mogaveers UAE, Coastal Challengers, Shayaan Cricket club and host Alliance Cricketers.


Royal Cutinho (Coastal Challengers), Junaid (Shayaan Cricket Club)


Gangadhar (Mogaveers UAE), Althaf (Nafis)


Mark (Devine), Francis Fernandes (Alliance)

Team Captains

The 12-over-a-side tournament will start at 8 am with the inaugural match between Nafis and Devine followed by other matches. Final will be played with 15 overs a side.

A thrilling tournament is expected as these are considered to be among the top teams of UAE consisting of experienced veteran players.

There will be no entry fee. Prizes will be AED 1000 for winning team and AED 250 for man of the match. Details of this tournament can be obtained from Ayaz 0553341714 (coordinator).

Olvy Pinto will be the match referee .

Spokesperson of Alliance Olvy Pinto informed that there are also plans to organize another tournament in April with more number of top teams. Details will be published soon.

    Its silly that somebody says why organizers called these 6 teams best. Article does not say these are the best teams at all. Article simply says these are among the top teams. So one must correct his correct his english grammer rather than simply writing anything he likes .Let me congratulate all these top teams once again. All the very best

    One of the humorous article on the web, especially the phrase “6 veteran teams” may have been ed by the IPL committee. Each comment to the article is mind-blowing. Just imagine the height of stupidity where few people including me are wasting time on posting comments on a friendly Tournament organized within the close friend-circle. Someone may have not been invited but it does not stop anyone from participating in other Tournaments scheduled for the same day.

    To some extent I do second the comments of Rakesh, Kannadiga, Donald what was the need to publish Captains Photos, what is the basis to call these 6 Teams as the best etc.

    Nafis 2012 7 a side tournament winners,Coastal Challengers 2011 7 a side tournament Runners up & 2012 semifinalist, Mogaveera club 2012 semifinalist and other so standard tournament played in U.A.E, Alliance host team and Divine team also very good team in Dubai (All teams are playing tape ball and MRE ball cricket tournaments & most of the players from Indians & Pakistani's)

    A exciting tournament is expected then? Nafees is the winner of Pamboor Tournament,Coastal was the runners up in Denzils Zabeel Tournament,Mogaveer was highly placed in pamboor tournament(I think they were semifinalist?). Shayaan is a new team & I do not know much. Good choice of 6 teams. After all these are one of the 6 best teams.
