Kadaba: 73-year-old man found dead with head injuries, police probe on

Kadaba, Feb 9: An elderly man was found dead under mysterious circumstances with head injuries at his residence in Nelyady on Sunday, February 8.

The deceased has been identified as K C Varghese (73), a resident of Nelyady village in Kadaba taluk.

According to the complaint filed by K V Thomas (40), he had taken his mother to Ashwini Hospital in Nelyady for treatment on Sunday afternoon. After leaving her at a relative's house at 8 pm, he returned home at 11 pm to find the front door open. Upon inspecting the house, he found Varghese lying under a cot with bleeding head injuries.

Varghese was immediately rushed to the government hospital in Puttur, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

At the time of the incident, Varghese was reportedly alone at home. Uppinangady police have registered a case under UDR number 07/2026 and Sections 194 (III) and (IV) of the BNSS 2023. Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of death.
