Puttur: Notice issued to HJV leader Ajith Rai Hosamane over proposed externment

Puttur, Feb 10: A proposal has been submitted seeking the externment of Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader (HJV) Ajith Rai Hosamane from Dakshina Kannada district, following which a notice has been issued directing him to appear for an inquiry.

According to official sources, the deputy superintendent of police, Puttur subdivision, has moved a proposal under Section 55 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963, seeking externment action against Ajith Rai, a resident of Hosamane in Innomogru village.

In this connection, a hearing has been scheduled on February 25 at the assistant commissioner’s court hall. Ajith Rai has been instructed to appear either in person or through a legal counsel during the inquiry.

The assistant commissioner, who is also the sub-divisional magistrate of Puttur, has stated that if Ajith Rai fails to attend the hearing, a decision will be taken ex parte based on the available records and information.
