Pune, Feb 11: NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, 85, admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune following a chest infection, is stable and expected to be discharged within the next two days, doctors said on Wednesday.
Pawar was brought to the private hospital on Monday from his Baramati residence after experiencing difficulty in breathing and a persistent cough. Dr. Simon Grant, physician and trustee at the hospital, said Pawar’s vital signs are normal and his condition is steadily improving.

“The chest congestion observed at the time of admission is responding well to treatment, and recovery is progressing smoothly,” Dr. Grant stated, adding that the condition was attributed to physical stress and fatigue from recent travel and public engagements.
The former Union minister, an oral cancer survivor, continues to show consistent improvement under medical supervision. Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar and her son Parth visited the hospital on Monday evening to check on his well-being following the recent loss of his nephew, Ajit Pawar, in an air crash on January 28.
