PM Modi inaugurates ‘Seva Teerth’, new administrative hub on Kartavya Path

New Delhi, Feb 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated ‘Seva Teerth’, a newly constructed administrative complex that will house the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and the Cabinet Secretariat.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by several senior leaders and dignitaries, including Minister of State in the PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The inauguration marks the formal relocation of the PMO from the historic South Block on Raisina Hill to the modern facility situated along Kartavya Path — formerly known as Rajpath. Located about a kilometre from South Block, the new complex is expected to serve as a centralised hub for key administrative functions, enabling closer coordination among top decision-making bodies.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate Kartavya Bhawan Complexes 1 and 2. These buildings will accommodate several major ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, and Education, among others.

For years, central ministries have functioned from multiple ageing structures spread across the Central Vista, often leading to coordination challenges and logistical inefficiencies. Officials say the newly developed complexes aim to address these concerns by bringing departments together within technologically advanced and integrated infrastructure.

The buildings are equipped with digitally enabled workspaces, dedicated public interface areas, and centralised reception systems designed to streamline operations and improve citizen services. Authorities noted that the new facilities are expected to enhance inter-departmental collaboration, administrative efficiency, and overall workplace well-being.

Constructed in line with 4-Star GRIHA sustainability standards, the complexes incorporate renewable energy solutions, water conservation systems, effective waste management mechanisms, and energy-efficient building materials to minimise environmental impact.

Security features include smart access controls, integrated surveillance systems, and advanced emergency response infrastructure to ensure safety for both officials and visitors.

According to an official statement, the inauguration represents a significant step in modernising India’s governance framework and underscores the government’s vision of creating a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused administrative ecosystem.
