Udupi, Feb 18: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has appealed to energy minister K J George to ensure that no power load shedding is implemented during the upcoming examination season, citing the importance of uninterrupted electricity for students preparing for their final examination.

In a letter addressed to the minister, the MLA highlighted that Udupi district has earned a strong reputation in the field of education, consistently delivering excellent academic results. With hundreds of educational institutions in the district and thousands of students from neighbouring districts pursuing their studies here, uninterrupted power supply is essential, especially during examination time, he stated.

Preparations are currently under way for the SSLC and PUC annual examinations. The SSLC final exams, along with pre-university, undergraduate, and postgraduate examinations, are scheduled to be held in March and April. These exams mark a significant academic milestone in the lives of students.

Emphasising the need for a conducive study environment, Suvarna urged the energy minister to issue necessary directions to concerned authorities to prevent power outages during this crucial period. He has also appealed to the deputy commissioner and officials of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the district.
