Mangaluru, Feb 20: St Sebastian English Medium School, Permannur, organised a hair donation programme in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital on February 19 at the school premises.
The programme began with a melodious prayer song sung by the students, invoking God’s blessings on the noble initiative.
Sr Jyotika BS, principal of the school, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of compassion and social responsibility. She appreciated the generous spirit of the donors who came forward to support cancer patients.



















The chief guest, Dr Nishitha Shetty, addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of hair donation in restoring confidence and hope among patients undergoing cancer treatment. She commended the school for organising such a meaningful programme.
The presidential address was delivered by Fr Cyprian Pinto, who encouraged the students to grow not only in academics but also in empathy and service towards society.
The programme was compered by Renita Monteiro, a staff member of the school, who conducted the proceedings smoothly.
A total of 64 participants donated their hair. Out of them, 38 were students of the school, while the remaining donors included parents, parishioners, staff members, and well-wishers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and reflected the spirit of care and solidarity.
The programme concluded with a note of gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the initiative.
