Brahmavar, Feb 21: A 56-year-old scooty rider died in a road accident that occurred near Aroor Cross in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Shekhar T Kulal (56), a resident of JP Nagar. According to reports, a goods vehicle coming from the Petri side allegedly hit his scooter from behind while he was crossing the divider.
Shekhar sustained severe head and hand injuries in the impact. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Brahmavar for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
He was employed at a private factory near Neelavara Cross. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station.
