Mangaluru, Feb 21: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organised a webinar titled “Wings to success: Exploring cabin crew life and aviation career opportunities” on February 20 at the Aviation Campus, Hampankatta.
The session was conducted for the students of BBA Aviation Management, Aviation and Logistics Management and MBA Aviation Management. The webinar aimed to provide students with practical insights into the aviation industry and create awareness about the various career opportunities available in this aviation industry.
The event was successfully conducted with the constant support and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean; Roshin K Sibi, head of the department; and Varshitha, guest lecture coordinator, along with the cooperation and coordination of faculty members and staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies.
The session was delivered by Sneha L S, an alumna of the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University and currently serving as a cabin crew member at Air India. During the session, Sneha shared her professional journey from being a student of the Institute of Aviation Studies to becoming a cabin crew member with a reputed airline.
Sneha explained that the role of cabin crew extends beyond hospitality and primarily focuses on passenger safety, emergency handling, and professional in-flight service. She briefly outlined the recruitment process, which includes application screening, group discussions, interviews, and medical tests, while stressing the importance of communication skills, grooming, and confidence. She also summarized the intensive training process covering safety procedures, and aircraft operations, along with required examinations.
Additionally, she highlighted career growth opportunities such as senior cabin crew, trainer, and managerial roles, encouraging students to continuously upgrade their skills and pursue higher education for better prospects. The webinar concluded successfully, providing students with valuable industry insights, practical guidance, and inspiration to pursue rewarding careers in the aviation sector.
