Mumbai, Feb 21: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out a major anti-encroachment drive on Friday, demolishing 25 illegal structures and 35 unauthorised stalls in Mahavir Nagar across Borivali (West) and Kandivali (West).

The operation was conducted by the civic body’s R/Central ward and involved coordinated efforts from the Vigilance, Encroachment Removal, Building and Factories, and Solid Waste Management departments.

Around 50 civic officials and staff participated in the action, supported by three JCB machines and five dumpers. Adequate police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order during the demolition process.

According to the municipal administration, similar drives targeting illegal constructions and unauthorised hawkers will continue in the coming days as part of ongoing efforts to clear encroachments and regulate public spaces.
