Dantewada, Feb 26: In a successful anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, security forces on Thursday recovered two pressure cooker improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from a forested hill near Todma village and the Tular Caves under Barsur Police Station jurisdiction.
The operation was carried out jointly by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) of Dantewada and personnel from Barsur Police Station, following credible intelligence received on Wednesday about Maoists planting explosives in the Todma, Gomter, and Tular Caves areas.

Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai stated that de-mining operations began in Todma village, Tular Caves, and the surrounding dense forests. A joint team, including DRG personnel, Sub Inspector Annuram Attami, and two constables, conducted a meticulous search based on the tip-off.
The forces located a concealed explosive cache, recovering two pressure cooker IEDs, each weighing five kilograms and fitted with fifteen meters of wiring. Officials noted that such devices are commonly used by Maoist groups for ambushes and area-denial tactics, posing a serious threat to patrolling security personnel and local villagers.
Following standard protocols, the BDDS team safely defused the explosives, preventing potential casualties and damage.
The operation, supervised by SP Gaurav Rai along with Additional Superintendents of Police RK Burman and Jitendra Khunte, is being hailed as a significant achievement in neutralising Maoist infrastructure and safeguarding both forces and civilians in this conflict-prone region.
