Curchorem, Feb 27: In a significant move aimed at enhancing citizen services, a Passport Seva Camp was organised at Ravindra Bhavan Curchorem, marking the first time such an initiative has been conducted in Curchorem.
The special camp was launched to ease the difficulties faced by local residents who earlier had to travel to Panaji for passport-related services. The long journey often meant additional travel expenses, loss of work hours and considerable inconvenience, especially for senior citizens and women.

With passport services now made available locally, residents were able to complete application and processing formalities within their own town. The initiative is expected to significantly reduce travel costs and save time, while ensuring a smoother and more accessible process.
Senior citizens, working professionals and women are likely to benefit the most from the improved accessibility. The camp reflects ongoing efforts to decentralise essential public services and bring governance closer to the people, ensuring greater convenience and efficiency in service delivery.
