Mangaluru: St Theresa’s School hosts ‘Groove and Shine’ Sports Day

Mangaluru, Feb 27: 'Groove and Shine', a unique and vibrant Sports Day, was conducted for the students of classes 1 and 2 of St Theresa’s School on February 27 on the school premises.

The programme began on a grand note with the arrival of the chief guest, Sr Vidya, vice principal of the school, along with the principal, Sr Lourdes, and Sr Chrisette. They were ceremoniously escorted to the dais through a lively dragon procession, adding colour and excitement to the occasion.

The event commenced with a prayer followed by a warm welcome address. A special attraction of the day was a lively Zumba dance performance by the students, who creatively used balls as props. Their energetic presentation was met with great appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Sr Vidya encouraged the children to actively participate in sports and co-curricular activities. She highlighted the importance of discipline and teamwork in shaping a bright future.

Certificates and medals were awarded to the winners of the running race, which had been conducted earlier under the guidance of the physical education teacher, Anitha.

Principal Sr Lourdes congratulated the students on their commendable performances and motivated them to take part in various sports activities with enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

The event concluded on a proud note with the announcement of the best house. The red house secured first place, followed by the green house. A fun game was also organized for the teachers, who participated with great enthusiasm and energy.

The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
