SEBI chief meets Canadian Finance Minister to boost institutional investment ties

New Delhi, Mar 1: Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey met Canada’s Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne to explore avenues for facilitating greater institutional investment and strengthening regulatory cooperation between the two countries.

Pandey was accompanied by SEBI Whole Time Member Sandip Pradhan and Executive Director Maninder Cheema during the discussions.

According to SEBI, the meeting focused on enhancing institutional investment flows, deepening regulatory collaboration and addressing issues of mutual interest. In a post on X on Saturday February 28, 2026, the markets regulator said both sides discussed ways to further facilitate institutional investments and reinforce cooperation between regulatory authorities.

The interaction is seen as part of efforts to strengthen financial sector engagement and improve cross-border investment frameworks between India and Canada.
