Mangaluru, Mar 5: A career guidance program was held at Government First Grade College, Kavoor, on March 4. The resource persons were Manjusha, counselor-cum-trainer, district employment exchange office, Dakshina Kannada, Mangalore, and Shradha, job development executive, district employment exchange office, Dakshina Kannada, Mangalore.

The programme began with a prayer by Ashwini and team. Dr Ashwin Mendonca, placement officer, welcomed the gathering. The principal (in-charge), Dr Therese Pereira, in her presidential address encouraged the students to do all that is possible to make themselves ready for the job market.

Manjusha spoke about various job opportunities and how to prepare for interviews. She also discussed various competitive examinations. She insisted that it is necessary to register at the employment exchange office and explained the procedure for doing so.

Dr Santhosh Pinto, students’ welfare officer and programme officer of the Youth Red Cross, was present on the occasion. Asif, III BCom, proposed the vote of thanks. Lavanya of III BCom compered the programme.

It was an interactive and engaging session.
