Puttur: Uppinangady police arrest accused evading court for 16 years

Puttur, Mar 7: In a significant development, Uppinangadi police have arrested a man who had been evading court proceedings for 16 years in a case registered at the local police station in 2019.

The accused, Vinod alias George Kutty Sebastian, a resident of Kadaba, was traced and taken into custody from Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district, Kerala. The court had previously issued judicial custody orders against him for failing to appear before the court.

The police have now produced the accused before the court, ensuring the continuation of the legal proceedings in the longstanding case.
