Shivamogga: Free health check-up and counselling camp for women held

Shivamogga, Mar 7: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a free health check-up and counselling camp for adolescent girls and women was successfully organised on Saturday, March 7, at Amar Jyothi College, Old Soraba. The camp was jointly organised by Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre, Soraba and the Government Hospital, Soraba.

During the camp, services such as blood pressure check-up, blood sugar testing, and blood group identification were provided to the participants. Along with these services, important information regarding health and well-being was also shared.

In the camp, Dr Raghavendra (general physician), Dr Akash (general physician), and Dr Amita (dermatologist) examined the participants and offered valuable health advice.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, Dr Raghavendra addressed the participants and gave guidance on preventive measures to lead a stress-free life.

Those present on the dais included Sr Harshita, superior of Maria Bodvig Convent; Sr Joel, director of Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre; Venugopal, retired manager of BSNL, Soraba; Dr Amita; and Dr Akash.

The programme began with a prayer by the students. Manjappa M K compered the programme, Prajwal welcomed the gathering, and Anil proposed the vote of thanks.

More than 200 adolescent girls and women participated in the camp and benefited from the services. The staff of the Health Department and students of HPR Nursing College extended their cooperation in conducting the camp successfully.
