New Delhi, Mar 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday extended their greetings on International Women's Day, praising the significant role played by women in shaping India’s progress and development.
In a message shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Amit Shah conveyed his appreciation for what he described as the invaluable contribution of “Nari Shakti” to society. He noted that women nurture generations while also driving advancements in science, the economy, and various other spheres of life.

Shah said that this respect and gratitude underpin Prime Minister Modi’s vision of women-led development, where women are not merely observers of progress but active changemakers guiding the nation’s journey toward greater achievements.
Prime Minister Modi also greeted women across the country and acknowledged their expanding role in India’s development. He highlighted that women today are making remarkable contributions across diverse sectors, bringing determination, creativity, and dedication that continue to inspire the nation.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the empowerment of women remains a central priority of the Union government, with several schemes and initiatives designed to support their growth and participation in nation-building.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating opportunities that allow every woman to realise her full potential and contribute meaningfully to India’s development path.
Calling the achievements of India’s “Nari Shakti” a matter of national pride, Modi said their accomplishments demonstrate the transformative role women play in shaping society and strengthening the country.
He added that as India moves forward on its journey toward building a “Viksit Bharat,” the aspirations, leadership, and contributions of women will continue to guide the nation toward greater strength and prosperity.
