Srinivas Institute of Technology celebrates Women’s Day with inspiring programme

Mangaluru, Mar 11: The Women Cell of Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Mangaluru organized a Women’s Day celebration on March 9 in the Seminar Hall, SIT. The programme began with an invocation, followed by a welcome address by Prof Daya Naik, head, department of artificial intelligence and machine learning, who emphasized the significance of Women’s Day and the importance of empowering women in all fields. Sangeeta S, assistant professor, Srinivas School of Architecture, introduced the chief guest, Geetha R Shetty, founder of Seva Bhava Charitable Trust, Mangaluru, highlighting her inspiring work and contributions to society.

Dr Veena Santhosh Rai, coordinator of the women cell, presented the women cell activity report, outlining the various initiatives and activities conducted by the women cell. The chief guest delivered an inspiring address on the theme 'Service, Sacrifice and Success: The Spirit of Womanhood', motivating the audience with her valuable insights.

A prize distribution ceremony was conducted to recognize students and staff who participated in the Women’s Day competition 'Because of Her: A Gratitude Message Competition'. The event also included a felicitation ceremony to honor the support staff who help maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the campus. The programme was presided over by Dr Shankar K S, head, department of mechanical engineering, who delivered the presidential address highlighting the importance of gender equality and respect for women.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Shilpakala, associate professor, department of mathematics. The programme was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr Veena Santhosh Rai, coordinator, women cell, along with the members of the women cell.
