Mangaluru, Mar 13: The Region conference ‘Aradhya’ of Region-1 under Lions International District 317D will be held on Sunday, March 15 at Edge Water, Bokkapatna in Mangaluru.

Region-1 chairperson B S Ravishankar will preside over the conference, while first lady of the region Divya Ravishankar will inaugurate the event.

Renowned Kannada humorous poet H Dundiraj will attend the conference as the chief guest and deliver the keynote address. Well-known classical dancer and cine actress Manasi Sudhir will participate as the guest of honour. District governor of Lions District 317D Kudpi Arvind Shenoy will also be present on the occasion.

Region-1 of Lions District 317D comprises seven clubs with more than 300 members. These clubs have been actively involved in various service activities throughout the year. During the conference, all seven clubs will participate in a banner presentation highlighting their activities.

As part of the Region conference service initiative, a computer laboratory has been established at DK Higher Primary School, Bokkapatna at a cost of 7 lac. The project has already been launched and handed over to the school authorities.

In addition, under the initiative of B S Ravishankar, an Advanced Acropoled Ocular Lens, costing around 3 lac, has been donated to justice K S Hegde Medical College. This service activity is undertaken every year.

More than 750 delegates are expected to participate in the conference.
