304 Cases Registered Against Security Forces in Kashmir


Jammu, Mar 5 (IANS): Three hundred and four first information reports (FIRs) were lodged against the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir during the last three years, the state asembly was informed Monday.

The FIRs had lodged in different police stations against the security forces personnel, including those belonging to the local police, the govenrment said in a written reply in the assembly here.

Of the FIRs, 164 have been registered in the Jammu division and 140 in the Kashmir division, of which 36 was registered in Srinagar district followed by 15 in Baramulla and 14 in Sopore.

The government said that of the 304 FIRs, 230 cases have already been moved in different courts in the state.
