Kabul, Mar 17: Afghanistan’s deputy government spokesman on Tuesday claimed that 400 people were killed after a Pakistan airstrike hit a drug treatment centre in Kabul. Loud explosions rocked the city at 9:00 pm Monday, triggering anti-aircraft fire and sending locals fleeing in panic after breaking their Ramadan fast.
Health Ministry spokesman Sharafat Zaman said all parts of the drug rehabilitation hospital were destroyed. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid accused Pakistan of violating Afghan airspace, calling the strike “a crime against humanity” in a post on X.

Pakistan, however, rejected the allegations, calling the claim “false and misleading,” according to its information ministry, Reuters reported.
The attack comes hours after cross-border clashes left four people dead in Afghanistan, marking the deadliest fighting between the neighbours in years and extending into a third week.
