New Delhi, Mar 17: Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday launched three new premium delivery services of the India Post in the national capital, aimed at strengthening India’s logistics network and ensuring faster parcel movement.
The new services — 24 Speed Post, 48 Speed Post, and 24 Speed Post Parcel — are designed to provide time-bound and efficient deliveries across major cities.
The launch event was attended by Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani along with senior officials from the Department of Posts India.

Speaking at the event, Scindia said the initiative represents a significant step in the transformation of India Post as it modernises operations and enhances service quality for customers in India and overseas.
He said the government, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, is committed to ensuring reliable and accessible postal services for citizens across the country and international customers.
The services were introduced after three months of pilot testing by the postal department.
Under the new system, 24 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel will offer next-day delivery between six major metro cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
These services will feature real-time tracking, OTP-based delivery confirmation, and compensation in case of delays. Deliveries will also be available on Sundays and holidays, except on national holidays.
Meanwhile, the 48 Speed Post service will ensure delivery within two days between these cities. It is designed mainly for document delivery and will include tracking and SMS alert facilities.
Initially, the services have been rolled out in the six metro cities and will be gradually expanded to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities in the coming phases.
Officials said the initiative is expected to significantly benefit e-commerce companies, small businesses, start-ups and individual customers by enabling faster and more reliable parcel delivery across the country.
