New Delhi, Mar 18: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution revoking the suspension of eight Opposition members, with Speaker Om Birla urging MPs to refrain from bringing fake or AI-generated posters and banners into Parliament.
Stating that all parties were committed to maintaining the dignity and traditions of the House, Birla said discussions held with party leaders had yielded consensus on ensuring decorum. He also referred to an official bulletin cautioning members against displaying misleading or AI-generated material both inside and outside the House.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who moved the motion to revoke the suspension, stressed that members must not cross a “Lakshman Rekha” during protests. He said Parliamentarians were elected to ensure smooth functioning of the House and not to disrupt proceedings.

The motion was moved after Congress Chief Whip K Suresh expressed regret over the “inadvertent indiscretion” by some Opposition members.
The House also witnessed a brief exchange between Dharmendra Yadav and Nishikant Dubey, with Yadav asserting that maintaining decorum was a shared responsibility and not solely that of the Opposition. Dubey, in response, rejected the remarks and demanded an apology.
Supriya Sule also called for mutual respect between the ruling and Opposition benches, emphasising that no member should breach established boundaries or indulge in personal remarks.
The suspensions, imposed on February 3 during the Budget session for unruly behaviour, had affected seven Congress MPs and one CPI(M) member. Following the revocation, Congress members paid tribute at Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament complex.
