Mangaluru: YSAHS observes World Kidney Day

Mangaluru, Mar 18: The unit of renal dialysis technology, Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences (YSAHS) observed World Kidney Day on March 12 in line with the theme ‘Kidney Health for All – Caring for People and Protecting the Planet.’

A food fest held in Thannirbavi Beach on February 14 raised Rs 34,249, which was utilised to distribute dialysis care kits to patients and saplings to promote environmental responsibility.

The programme witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, doctors and administrators.

It was graced by the presence of Dr Sunita Saldanha, dean, YAHP; Dr Santhosh Pai, head, department of nephrology; Nelvin Nelson, deputy manager; Sabith, deputy hospital operation officer and Dr Althaf Khan, professor, department of urology.

The initiative highlighted the importance of kidney health awareness, patient support and sustainable healthcare practices.
