Agra: Five killed, four injured as SUV crashes into tree

Agra, Mar 20: Five persons, including four members of a family, were killed and four others sustained serious injuries after an SUV rammed into a tree in Agra, police said on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Kamta Prasad (70), his son Devendra (35), daughter-in-law Seema (32), three-year-old granddaughter Aradhya, and the driver Rishi (20).

According to police, the family, residents of Etawah, was returning after offering prayers at the Kaila Devi Temple when the accident occurred.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Agarwal said the Bolero vehicle crashed into a tree in the Chitrahat police station area, leading to the fatalities and injuries.

The injured have been referred to the UP University of Medical Sciences for treatment.

Police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
