Woman succumbs to burn injuries in Sullia

Sullia, Mar 21: A 65-year-old woman who had sustained severe burn injuries in an accidental fire incident at her residence succumbed to her injuries at a hospital, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Tilak (65), wife of late Chinnappa Gowda, a resident of Shirolu near Kollamogru village in Sullia.

According to reports, the incident occurred on March 10 when Tilak was engaged in cooking at her house. Her saree accidentally caught fire, leaving her with severe burn injuries.

She was initially rushed to a hospital in Sullia and later shifted to Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, despite medical efforts, she failed to respond to treatment and passed away.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
