Mangaluru, Mar 21: Research Cell of Father Muller College of Nursing organized Research Day on March 20. The day’s celebration began with a series of competitions for the undergraduate nursing students of FMCON and FMNCT such as scientific paper presentations, concept paper presentations and thematic posters.
The judges for the various events were Dr Priya Reshma Aranha, professor and vice-principal, Yenepoya Nursing College; Dr Madhurima Nayak, Assistant Professor, FMMC; Dr Jenifer D’Souza, Professor, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing and Dr Nishanth Krishna, professor, FMMC. A total of 15 teams had registered for research quiz competition from various nursing colleges of Mangaluru and a thrilling research quiz was conducted by Dr Animesh Jain, professor, department of community medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru.

























The day was concluded with the valedictory ceremony which was presided by Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, director FMCI; Dr Shivashankara AR, chief guest, principal of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences, Mangaluru; Dr Ramesh Bhat, guest of honour, head of research centre and Sr Prof Dr Dhanya Devasia, principal FMCON. The research cell recognized the student and staff contributions towards research by awarding the best in each category of student researcher award and staff research patent/copyright, publications/paper presentation, grants, book/chapter and overall exemplary researcher award.
The overall exemplary researcher award including grant and publication and paper/ poster presentation award was won by Dr Shycil Mathew, professor, department of community health nursing.
Dr Sonia Karen Liz Sequera, professor, department of community health nursing also shared the poster/Paper presentation award and Dr Sandra Saldanha, professor, department of child health nursing won the research patent and book/ chapter award.
