BJP Extends Lead in Uttarakhand


Dehradun, Mar 6 (IANS): Uttarakhand's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extended its lead over the Congress and was ahead in 30 seats in trends available for 64 of the 70 assembly constituencies. The Congress was behind with leads in 21 seats.

Initial trends had suggested a close call between the two parties. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was third with six seats followed by the Samajwadi Party (SP) with one.
