Sullia, Mar 23: A man sustained injuries after a mobile phone battery exploded in Kalmakaru on Monday morning, reports said.
The injured has been identified as Gurupasad Nidube, a resident of the area.
He had kept his mobile phone, which he had purchased about a year ago, in his pant pocket when the device suddenly exploded.
Due to the phone being inside the pocket, the blast caused burn injuries to his thigh. He has been shifted to a hospital for treatment, sources said.
