Udupi, Mar 24: Dinesh Amin, president Udupi Nagara BJP has demanded that former MLA Raghupati Bhat immediately withdraw the baseless allegations made out of political frustration against Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna and issue an unconditional apology.
Speaking at a press conference held at Udupi press club on March 24, he said, based on complaints from the local Karavali Youth Association and villagers regarding the alleged creation of fake documents and submission of false information to the Urban Development Authority concerning private land owned by former MLA Raghupati Bhat in Badanidiyur village, MLA Yashpal Suvarna, as a responsible legislator, had written a letter seeking legal action to ensure justice for the public. However, Raghupati Bhat, who has been an MLA three times, is now making politically motivated false allegations and attempting to defame him.

Dinesh further stated that Raghupati Bhat does not have the mindset to accept a common worker from a backward class becoming an MLA. Despite a lack of sufficient grants from the state government, Yashpal Suvarna has been working tirelessly day and night for the overall development of the Udupi constituency, addressing the needs and issues of party workers, and upholding the dignity of the people. His performance as a responsible MLA is a matter of pride.
Dinesh also criticized Raghupati Bhat, saying that after enjoying power as an MLA three times, he betrayed the party and its workers who had worked tirelessly for him, just because he was denied a ticket in the last election. Driven by a desire for power, he contested the Legislative Council elections as a rebel candidate, showing disrespect to the party. Therefore, he has no moral right to criticize Yashpal Suvarna’s functioning, party loyalty, and commitment.
The press conference was also attended by rural BJP president Rajeev Kulal, Prabhakar Poojary, Pradeep, Srivatsa, and others.
