‘LCS Culture Cove 2026’ summer camp inaugurated at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Mar 28: The summer camp at Lourdes Central School was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and joy. The opening ceremony was held on the school ground in the presence of the chief guest Dr Lovely George, principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, teachers, and students.

The programme began with a prayer introduction by Lizzy Fernandes to seek God’s blessings, followed by a melodious prayer song sung by Angelina and team. Sunita gave a beautiful introduction to the summer camp, which was named 'LCS Culture Cove 2026'. The weather forecast was creatively presented by Sonia adding an interesting touch to the programme.

Deepa Rao, Lynette Pereira, and Mabel welcomed the chief guest, Dr Lovely George, through a delightful drama performance. Lolita Coelho also gave a brief introduction of the chief guest, Dr Lovely George, who is an assistant professor of pathology at A J Institute of Medical Sciences. The programme also extended a warm welcome to our dynamic and energetic principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira.

An icebreaker action song was conducted by Therese Monteiro and Marula Gibson which engaged the students actively. This was followed by an energetic Zumba performance by the Desi damaka team, which filled the atmosphere with excitement and enthusiasm.

The chief guest addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of summer camps. She encouraged the students to learn new things, develop new skills, and make new friends. She also shared a short inspiring story, which was enjoyed by all the students.

The principal highlighted the importance of such camps in nurturing creativity, teamwork, and confidence among students. Various activities planned for the camp were introduced, creating great excitement among the participants.

The programme ended with camp anthem.
