Mangaluru: Author Reshel Fernandes receives Bharat Bhushan honour at National Leaders Summit

Mangaluru, Mar 28: Author and orator Reshel Bretny Fernandes has been conferred with the prestigious Bharat Bhushan honour at the National Leaders Conference 2026 summit held at Hotel Marriott, Udaipur.

Fernandes, a prominent young author, ABVP activist, and final-year LLB student, is also a recipient of the Kittur Rani Chennamma State Award. She is set to be recognised as the “Emerging Voice of Bharat” on the occasion of Women’s Day in Bengaluru by the Inki Pehchan Foundation, a national organisation.

Hailing from Mangaluru, Fernandes has made notable accomplishments at both national and international levels in the literary field. She has authored five books and received numerous awards for her contributions, earning recognition in leading magazines and plaudits from the Prime Minister’s Office, the President of India, and several other government ministries. Fernandes is regarded as a voice shaping modern India by over 200 media platforms.

The Bharat Bhushan award was presented by Lieutenant General N.G. Singh of the Indian Army, who is also chairman of Narayana Hospitals, Udaipur, in recognition of Fernandes’s literary achievements and her work as a young public voice.
