Abdel Fattah el-Sisi urges Donald Trump to stop Iran war

Daijiworld Media Network - Cairo

Cairo, Mar 30: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has called on US President Donald Trump to intervene and bring an end to the ongoing war involving Iran, stating that Washington holds decisive influence in the region.

Addressing a conference in Cairo, Sisi made a direct appeal to Trump, saying, “Nobody can stop the war in our region in the Gulf but you,” and urged him to take action to halt the conflict.

He warned that continued escalation could have severe global consequences, including disruptions to energy supplies and a sharp rise in oil prices, potentially crossing $200 per barrel.

The appeal comes as the conflict enters its second month, with rising military tensions and attacks across the region. The United States has warned of possible strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure if a deal is not reached, further escalating fears of a wider war.

Iran has rejected US proposals for peace, calling them unrealistic, while hostilities continue to spread across West Asia, affecting key shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz and disrupting global oil markets.

Sisi emphasised the urgent need for de-escalation, highlighting the broader economic and humanitarian risks posed by the conflict.
