Udupi, Apr 2: A landmark moment in India’s evolving electric mobility landscape was witnessed in Udupi as Maruti Suzuki marked the delivery of its first-ever electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki e-VITARA, at the Abharan NEXA showroom in Kadiyali, on Thursday, April 2.

The event saw the ceremonial handover of five e-VITARA vehicles to proud new owners, signaling the brand’s official entry into the electric SUV segment. The keys were presented by Subhas Kamath, CEO and managing director, Abharan Motors and Akarsh Kamath, who led the handover proceedings in the presence of customers, dealership representatives, and invited guests.

The delivery ceremony was more than just a routine transaction, it was celebrated as a milestone occasion. The showroom was filled with excitement as customers received their vehicles, reflecting growing consumer confidence in electric mobility. A cake-cutting ceremony added to the festive atmosphere, symbolizing both celebration and a new beginning for sustainable transportation in the region.

As the company’s first fully electric SUV, the model represents a strategic shift toward greener alternatives while maintaining the brand’s reputation for reliability and affordability.

The successful handover of five vehicles in a single event at the Abharan NEXA showroom in Kadiyali, underscores strong initial demand and optimism for electric vehicles in coastal Karnataka.
