New Delhi, Apr 7: The India women's national field hockey team is set to tour Argentina for a four-match series scheduled from April 13 to 17 at the CeNARD.
The matches will be played on April 13, 14, 16 and 17 at the National Centre of High-Performance Athletics in Buenos Aires. The two teams have shared a competitive rivalry in recent years, including a closely fought 2-2 draw in the FIH Pro League 2024–25 that was decided via shootout.

The tour is expected to provide crucial match practice for India ahead of major international assignments, including the upcoming FIH Hockey World Cup and the Asian Games.
Head coach Sjoerd Marijne said the squad of 24 players has been selected with a focus on testing depth and combinations.
“This tour is about giving more players the chance to perform at the highest level. Argentina is one of the best teams in the world, and that environment will tell us a lot about where each player stands,” he said.
He emphasised that team cohesion will be key in final selections, noting that players must demonstrate both individual skill and the ability to contribute to the collective unit.
The series is expected to help the Indian side fine-tune strategies and build momentum ahead of a packed international calendar later this year.
