New Delhi, Apr 11: In a major breakthrough for security agencies, most-wanted gangster Sahil Chauhan is being brought back to India after being deported from Thailand, officials said on Friday.

According to sources, Chauhan is expected to arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Saturday, where he will be immediately taken into custody by the Haryana Special Task Force.

Chauhan, a notorious figure in organised crime, is also wanted by the National Investigation Agency in connection with multiple cases. He is believed to be a key associate of gangster Kaushal Chaudhary, who is currently lodged in a Haryana jail.

Investigators allege that Chauhan played a key role in orchestrating several contract killings while operating from abroad, making him a high-priority target for law enforcement agencies.

Officials said he was recently detained overseas following coordinated efforts by central agencies and Haryana Police. His deportation is being seen as a significant step in efforts to dismantle transnational organised crime networks linked to Indian gangs.

Extensive security arrangements have been made at the Delhi airport ahead of his arrival. After custody, Chauhan is likely to be produced before a court and may be taken to Haryana for further interrogation.

Authorities described the development as a major success, highlighting growing international cooperation in tracking and bringing fugitives to justice.
