Fire erupts at scrap yard in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area, no injuries reported

Mumbai, Apr 14: A fire broke out on Tuesday morning at a scrap yard located along the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in the Mandala area of Mankhurd.

The incident was reported around 8:15 am and was quickly classified as a Level I (minor) fire. According to officials, the blaze was limited to combustible materials such as oil containers, plastic waste, dry scrap, and piles of wood spread across an open plot measuring roughly 50 by 500 feet.

Emergency services responded promptly, deploying multiple fire engines, water tankers, jumbo tankers, a quick response vehicle, and an ambulance to control the situation. Firefighters are continuing efforts to fully extinguish the flames.

Authorities have confirmed that no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
