Mangaluru, Apr 15: Seven-year-old Ranon Sion D’Costa, a class II student of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, has earned national and international recognition for his exceptional achievements.
The son of Rohan Ivan D’Costa and Shalet Jane Pinto, Ranon won a gold medal at the World Maths Championship 2025 and emerged as a class topper in multiple SOF Olympiads, including science, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Computer Science.
In the Wiz Spell Bee, he secured a national rank of 47 and state rank of 15, and has qualified for the national level again.


What truly sets Ranon apart is his extraordinary talent in geography. Recognised as a ‘Geo-Genius’ by the Child Dream Booster Hub Organisation, he has accomplished record-breaking feats.
On March 1 he identified 197 shuffled country flags in just over three minutes. In another remarkable display, he named 65 countries along with their capitals and accurately mapped them within three minutes, highlighting his exceptional memory and spatial skills.
A recognised chess player with a FIDE ID (558077995), Ranon competes in national-level tournaments, demonstrating strategic thinking and discipline. He is also an accomplished piano player, further reflecting his diverse talents.
