Mumbai: Billawar Association Women’s Wing Distributes Pension to Widows

Mumbai, Mar 8: The women’s wing of Billawar Association celebrated ‘World Women’s Day’ at Narayana Guru auditorium, Billawa Bhavan, Santa Cruz (East), on Thursday March 8.

The metro-based Sai Care Logistics Limited director Dayashree Surendra Poojary and Leelavati Jaya Suvarna inaugurated the programme. Women’s wing president Jayanti V Ullal presided over the programme.

Billawar Association president Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated the ‘Single Mother Grants – We Care’, widower’s monthly pensions, by distributing the benefits on the occasion.

Bharat Co-operative Bank founder president Varada Ullal, chairman Vasudev R Kotian, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharastra president Chandrashekar Palettady, Sai Care Logistics Limited managing director Surendra A Poojary, Vidwan K Sadashiv Shanti and Pushpa L Anchan Dombivali were the guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Jaya Suvarna said that it’s indeed commendable that the women’s wing is concerned about the poor widows in the community and the financial help will support them in their distress.

Harish K Hejmady explained how the project was conceived and its objective in imbibing human values among the new generation.

Gangadhar Paniyoor conveyed best wishes for the success of ‘We Care’ community welfare project. Dharmesh S Salian read the list of donors who contributed to the project.

Mohini Vasudev Kotian, Leela C T Salian, Vasanti Saliankar, Sudha L Amin, women’s wing vice-president S Poojary, executive committee member Prabha K Bangera, Billawar Association honorary president Y Nagesh, vice-president L V Amin, M B Kukyan, Nityanand D Kotian, C T Salian, and Dhananjay S Kotian were present on the dais.

Executive committee members Sumitra S Bangera, Prabha K Bangera, Laxmi Poojary, Pramila Kotian, Chandrakala R Suvarna, Susheela Poojary, Jyoti G Suvarna, Asha Anchan, Geetanjali Salian, Prema R Kotian, and hundreds of women were present on the occasion.

Various cultural programmes were staged by the members of the women’s wing and their children.

    The attempt to address the plight of widows of billava is an excellent venture taken up by womens wing.Narayana guru always stressed the compassion and empathy to our fellow being.congrats.
