Nashik, Apr 20: An astrologer accused in multiple cases involving sexual assault and alleged black magic practices has been remanded to custody until April 23, as investigators continue to probe a growing number of complaints against him.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) secured the extended custodial remand in connection with a fifth case registered in Nashik. The accused, Ashok Kharat, was presented before a magistrate via video conferencing on Sunday.

In the most recent complaint, the survivor has alleged that she was subjected to repeated sexual assault over an extended period between April 2024 and December 2025. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they examine multiple allegations tied to the case.
