Doha, Apr 21: Bunts Qatar, one of the vibrant associate association of the ICC under the aegis of the Embassy of India, has been organizing various social, cultural, and sports events since its establishment in 2011, with the primary objective of providing a platform for its members while also promoting and passing on native culture to the younger generation.
Bunts Qatar elected its new management committee for the 2026–2028 term during the annual general meeting held on February 20, and unanimously chose Sukaram Shetty Sowkoor as the new president.

Sukaram Shetty hails from Sowkoor, near Kundapur in the Udupi district. He has been actively involved in various organizations in Qatar and, within a remarkably short span of time, has become a well-known figure in society. Rising to leadership through his natural charm and dedication to voluntary service, he has also served many associations across Qatar and Dubai, further strengthening his reputation as a leader who values service, unity, and collaboration. A talented individual, Sukaram Shetty has consistently demonstrated his leadership abilities and social contributions in several native associations as well.
The event was hosted by joint general secretary Chidanand Rai and presented an overview of the activities conducted during the previous term.
The audited balance sheet for the years 2023–2025 was presented by treasurer Sunil Shetty. which was approved by all the attendees on the floor.

Naveen Shetty Iruvail, the outgoing president of Bunts Qatar, in his presidential address, outlined the association’s objectives, expressed his appreciation, and thanked the collective efforts of his MC members, as well as the support received from the advisory committee and members. He presented a token of appreciation and expressed his gratitude to the executive body and association members for their cooperation during his tenure.
The subcommittee members and volunteers were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation for their dedicated support and service to the community. Additionally, each member of the existing Management Committee was individually felicitated by the honored dignitaries
Founder president and president of KSQ, Ravi Shetty; past presidents Navaneeth Shetty, Deepak Shetty, and Dr Padmashree Shetty; along with senior members Ramachandra Shetty, Dhananjaya Shetty, Santhosh Shetty, and Uday Shetty Shirva, congratulated and conveyed their best wishes to the new committee for taking Bunts Qatar to greater heights. Committee members and Bunts Qatar members attended the meeting in good numbers.
