Brahmavar, Apr 29: Marking a significant step in its social service initiatives, Anjali’s Vijayalakshmi Trust and Anjali’s Vijayalakshmi Saree, has constructed its first house in Brahmavar under its Corporate Social Responsibility project. The house was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Kota Srinivas Poojary. The organisation, which has already built and donated more than five houses to needy women in Tamil Nadu, has now expanded its efforts to Karnataka. This is the first such initiative undertaken by the trust in Brahmavar.

Speaking on the occasion, Anjali, managing director of Anjali’s Vijayalakshmi Trust and Anjali’s Vijayalakshmi Saree, said the organisation has been actively involved in supporting women and children through various CSR activities. “We are based in Tamil Nadu and have carried out several projects there. This is our first initiative in Brahmavar. Our mission is to support women and girl children in society. We identify the needy through surveys and reach out to them. During our meetings, we came across a family living without basic facilities. We decided to act immediately. The plan was finalised within a month, and the house was completed in just two months. The newly built house has been named Kanasu, meaning ‘dream.’ The name reflects the aspiration of owning a home. Building a house is always a dream for many. Even my home carries the same name, and all future houses we construct will also be named Kanasu,” she said.
In his address, Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Udupi-Chikkamagaluru appreciated the initiative and said “It is heartening to see a noble initiative like this in a rural area. The dream of owning a home is fulfilled for many through such contributions. I congratulate the trust for their commendable work. As the name Kanasu is given, let more Dreams of the house be fulfilled” he said.
President of Lions Club Brahmavar, Suesh Hegde, also lauded the initiative. He highlighted that “similar efforts are undertaken by the Lions Club under its Home for Homeless mission, We are happy to see Vijaylaksmi trust doing such meaningful work.
