New Delhi, Apr 30: In a quick and well-coordinated operation, Central District Police solved a string of scooty theft cases in the Nabi Karim area, apprehending two minors and recovering the stolen vehicles. The case reflects efficient policing and a thorough investigation by the team from Police Station Nabi Karim.

The first complaint was lodged on April 25 by a resident of Multani Dhanda in Paharganj, who reported that his Honda Activa (registration DL6SAP) had been stolen on April 23 from outside his home in Gali No. 5. Based on the complaint, an eFIR (No. 009309/26) was registered under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation began.

Just two days later, on April 27, another resident from the same locality reported a similar theft. His Activa (registration DL6SAV) had been stolen from Gali No. 4. A second case (eFIR No. 009472/26) was registered under the same legal provisions. Given the similarities in timing and location, police initiated a joint investigation to track down those responsible.

A special team, including Head Constables Vikash and Nitin along with Constables Sanjay and Mandeep, was formed under the supervision of Station House Officer Gulshan Nagpal and the guidance of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Paharganj.

Investigators examined CCTV footage from multiple locations across Nabi Karim, which revealed two young suspects moving around late at night and targeting parked vehicles. Officers combined footage analysis with local intelligence gathering to trace their movements and identify them.

After sustained efforts, both suspects were identified as minors. On April 29, they were apprehended from the railway yard near Pul Paharganj, close to New Delhi Railway Station. The boys, aged 12 and 13, are residents of the Nabi Karim area.

During questioning, the juveniles admitted that they would scout the area at night to find unattended vehicles. After stealing them, they used the scooties to roam locally before abandoning them at different spots to avoid detection.

Based on their disclosures, police recovered both stolen Honda Activa scooters from areas under Sadar Bazar and Paharganj police stations.

With the recovery of the vehicles and the apprehension of the accused, both cases have been successfully solved under Sections 305(b) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
