New Delhi, May 4: Defence minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate a major defence technology event in Prayagraj on Monday, bringing together military leaders and industry experts to explore advanced solutions for battlefield deployment.
The three-day North Tech Symposium, themed “Raksha Triveni Sangam - Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge,” is being jointly organised by the Indian Army Northern Command, the Indian Army Central Command, and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers.

According to the Defence Ministry, the event aims to serve as a dynamic platform for showcasing cutting-edge indigenous technologies designed to address operational challenges faced by the armed forces. A wide spectrum of participants—including MSMEs, private defence firms, startups, and uniformed innovators—will take part, with around 284 companies presenting their latest advancements.
The symposium is focused on identifying technologies suitable for real-world deployment, improving maintenance systems, and streamlining procurement processes. These efforts are aligned with strengthening a self-reliant and sustainable defence ecosystem for the Indian Army.
Officials highlighted that the Army continues to prioritise innovation to tackle evolving security threats, making such collaborations increasingly important.
Scheduled to conclude on May 6, 2026, the event is expected to foster closer ties between defence personnel, scientists, industry stakeholders, and academia—helping drive technological excellence and national security.
Earlier, speaking at the ‘Shaurya’ event marking the upcoming anniversary of Operation Sindoor, Rajnath Singh praised the courage and commitment of India’s armed forces. He described the operation as a landmark moment in the nation’s military history and reiterated the government’s firm stance against terrorism under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
He also emphasised the broader role of the armed forces, noting their contributions as first responders during natural disasters, both domestically and internationally. “Our soldiers not only defend the nation but also extend humanitarian aid in times of crisis,” he said, underscoring the values of service and sacrifice that define India’s military.
